Program Objectives
The McMaster University Medical Acupuncture Program: An Evidence-Based Approach to Traditional Chinese Medicine is conducted at the McMaster University Main Street Campus. The first class was enrolled in 1999 and attended in 2000. This program utilizes the most current evidence through clinical trials and systematic reviews for point selections and applications.

Point location is taught in small group demonstration and practice. The more advanced concepts of the course will be specialized in sports medicine or Traditional Chinese Medicine. The acupuncture courses are designed specifically for the needs of Health Care Professionals who are seeking to advance their scientific evidence-based knowledge of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Our program fulfils the training requirements or is recognized by the Acupuncture Council of Ontario, Alberta College and Associations of Chiropractors, American Board of Medical Acupuncture, British Medical Acupuncture Society, Canadian Academy of Medical Acupuncture, College of Chiropractors of Ontario, College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, College of Physiotherapists of British Columbia and the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. The program is also recognized by the Worker Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) of Ontario and many other major insurance companies for payments to Acupuncture Providers.


Online Program Details
The price is $5995 for the first ten complete registration special discounts for the Online program with one weekend of in-person practical sessions. The regular price is $8395.
The program is up to 300 hours (50 hours of lectures and practical sessions and 250 self-study)

Practical session dates. These six half days are mandatory to attend at the scheduled slots. Five half-days are in person and one-half day of practical point consolidation over Zoom.

Live lectures are at the same time as the in-person program. For the online Cohort, lectures are available to watch on your own time until the day of the exam, on December 9, 2023.
